EVENT DETAILS

November 9, 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm

Join us for an empowering community event focused on understanding and addressing domestic violence within our communities. The first portion of the event will feature a legal presentation by law student, Nawaal Farooq, exploring key risk factors, warning signs, and the legal tools available to help identify and safely navigate situations involving domestic violence.

In the second half, Aalimah and licensed therapist Farheen Farooq will offer insights from both a therapeutic and Islamic perspective, providing guidance on emotional healing, faith-based coping, and building supportive community networks.

This event aims to educate, empower, and create a safe space for learning, reflection, and connection. If you or someone you care about may be experiencing domestic violence, please know you’re not alone.

Help is available 24/7 through the Illinois Domestic Violence Hotline at 877-863-6338
