DESCRIPTION:My Body Is a Trust from Allah – An Islamic Body Awareness & Safety Workshop for 2nd-3rd Grade Girls \nThis 3-hour workshop\, led by Aalimah Khadija Basith and Aalimah Iram Shaikh\, gently introduces important topics of body awareness\, emotional safety\, and personal boundaries through the lens of Islamic teachings. Designed specifically for young girls in 2nd and 3rd grade\, this program focuses on helping children understand that their bodies are an amanah (trust) from Allah ﷻ. Through storytelling\, crafts\, games\, and discussions\, girls will learn about privacy\, awrah\, safe and unsafe touch\, and how to seek help from trusted adults – all in a safe\, age-appropriate\, and spiritually grounded environment. \n✨ Topics Covered:\n✔ How Allah created us with purpose\n✔ Understanding private parts and awrah\n✔ The importance of modesty and privacy\n✔ Safe vs. unsafe touch\n✔ Listening to your body and trusting your feelings\n✔ How to say no and when to tell a trusted adult \n👧🏽 For: Girls in 2nd–3rd Grade (children will not be accompanied by parents)\n⏰ Duration: 3 hours (includes a short break and Q&A session)\n– Check-in: 10:45 AM\n– Check-out: 2:15 PM \n📍 Location: In-person only\, no recordings available\nAisha Fatima Community\n330 E Roosevelt Rd STE 100\, 60148\n🎒 Materials provided\n \n\n\n\nAalimah Khadija Basith is an accomplished educator and leader with over 16 years of experience in both private Islamic and public educational settings. She holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from DePaul University and completed a rigorous two-year Principal Preparation Program at Concordia University\, earning her Illinois school leadership certification. Her academic journey is further enriched by her completion of a five-year Alimah program through Darululoom Online. \nKhadija has served in various impactful roles throughout her career\, including three years as an Instructional Coach and one year as Director of Enrichment Programs at Carriers of Light\, where she designed and led initiatives that nurtured confident\, spiritually grounded learners. She currently serves as a Teacher Coach at Masjid Uthman and advises several Islamic and public schools in the area\, supporting educators in creating classrooms rooted in both academic excellence and Islamic values. \nAalimah Iram Shaikh was born and raised in Chicago\, Illinois. She began her Islamic studies at Jamiatus Salihat\, and later completed her studies at Darul Uloom Chicago from which she obtained her Aalimah degree under illustrious scholars that have studied throughout the Indian Subcontinent. She graduated with a focus in Arabic grammar\, Hadith and Qur’an commentary\, and Hanafi Fiqh. Upon completion of her Aalimah degree she served the community through establishing and teaching introductory level Tajweed and Fiqh classes for young adult females and organizing weekly sisters’ Halaqas in the Chicagoland area. She went on to complete her B.A. in Urban Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She also taught online women’s Islamic courses focusing in Arabic grammar and Fiqh along with teaching youth tafseer\, tajweed\, and seerah in local masajid in Chicago. She was a full time teacher at a local Islamic school teaching middle school and high school Islamic Studies\, Islamic History\, and Qur’an. After teaching for 6 years\, she went on to pursue her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from UIC all the while having two kids. Currently\, she spends her time volunteering locally leading learning circles for young girls and moms.
